Our Business Strategy
Our focus is on understanding, building and supplying natural gas markets around the world. We operate in three key business sectors — Exploration and Production, Liquefied Natural Gas, and Transmission and Distribution.
Our high performing Exploration and Production business remains the centre of gravity of our activities. The increasingly opportunity-rich Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) segment, together with Transmission and Distribution form our downstream activities and give us the complete range of skills across the gas chain.

BG Group China
BG Group entered China in 2006 and currently has two offices in Beijing and Shenzhen. BG Group owns operating interests in three offshore blocks 64/11, 53/16 and 63/16 in the Qiongdongnan Basin. In December 2010, the first exploration well drilled on Block 64/11 reported gas find and is currently under appraisal for future development. In March 2010 BG Group signed a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sales and purchase agreement with China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) for the supply of 3.6 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG over a 20-year period starting from 2014.
